Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

• Account info: name, email, and role (student, parent, or tutor).
• Booking details: subject, tutor, date/time, location preference, and any notes you add for the tutor.
• For students, optional academic info you choose to share (grade level, school, learning goals) so tutors can prepare.
• Session records: tutor session reports, homework, and ratings, so progress is visible to the student and their parent.
• Payment records via Stripe — we receive confirmation a payment succeeded, never your card number.

2. What we don't collect

We never see or store your card number, expiration date, or CVC — Stripe handles payment entirely on their own secure page. We don't run advertising trackers or sell any data to third parties, ever.

3. How it's used

• To match you with a tutor and manage bookings, rescheduling, and cancellations.
• To send booking confirmations, session reports, and reminders by email.
• To let a linked parent view and manage a child's sessions and homework.
• To keep the platform safe (e.g. limiting spam, verifying a real account before booking).

4. Who it's shared with

Your tutor sees what they need to run the session — your name, contact info, and any notes you add. A linked parent sees their child's bookings, homework, and session reports. We use a small number of service providers to run the platform: our authentication provider (sign-in), Stripe (payments), and our email provider (booking notifications) — each only receives what they need to do that one job, and none of them are permitted to use it for their own purposes.

5. Minors & parental accounts

Many PeerRise users are students under 18. We ask for a date of birth when creating an account so we know when a parent needs to be involved: students under 13 can't create their own account. Instead, a parent or guardian creates their own PeerRise account and adds the child as a managed student from their dashboard. A managed child has no login, password, or email of their own — the parent handles everything (booking, cancelling, viewing homework and session reports) on their behalf, and the only information we hold about that child is whatever the parent chooses to enter, typically just a first name and grade level.

A parent can review, correct, or ask us to delete any information tied to their child's account at any time — email hello@peerrise.net and we'll take care of it.

6. Cookies

We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies — to keep you signed in and to let Stripe prevent fraudulent payments. No advertising or analytics trackers. See our Cookie Policy for the full list.

7. Your choices

You can update your profile information any time from your dashboard. To request a copy of your data or have your account deleted, email hello@peerrise.net — we'll respond within a few days.
