City of Suwanee Volunteer Opportunities
The City of Suwanee's own volunteer program — event crews, the Harvest Farm garden, the Welcome Center, and youth programs, with volunteer-hour tracking for students.
About this resource
The City of Suwanee runs its own volunteer program with a wide range of roles, and marks several of them "Young Citizen Friendly": Events Volunteers (the city hosts about 45 events a year), Harvest Farm and Orchard work days (planting, weeding, watering), Parker's Pals (playing the city mascot at events), Scout projects (which must be approved by Public Works first), the Welcome Center in Town Center, Suwanee Police Public Safety Cadets (ages 14–20, meets twice a month), and Suwanee Youth Leaders. Create a volunteer profile on the city's volunteer portal to be notified when opportunities open in your interest areas — the city says students can track their volunteer hours with it. Suwanee Youth Leaders is a nine-month leadership program for high school sophomores and juniors in the North Gwinnett, Peachtree Ridge and Collins Hill clusters (including private and home-schooled students); applications for the 2026–2027 class have closed, so check its page for the next one. Some opportunities need extra paperwork, applications, background checks or other approvals.

How to apply / get started
Browse open opportunities on the city's volunteer portal (no account needed to look), then create an account to sign up — name, email, postal code and password, or Google, Facebook or Apple. The portal is run by Galaxy Digital, so sign-in and account creation happen on its sign-in page. Log in later to track your volunteer hours. Scout projects must first be approved by the Public Works department; other roles may need extra paperwork or background checks. Questions about volunteering: call the city's Events & Outreach Manager at 770-904-3387 (the contact listed on the volunteer page).
